Anworth Kirk
This mysterious new project has ties to the world of Demdike Stare. It is also the inaugural release for a new label called Pre-Cert Entertainment. I can't imagine a more fitting pre-Halloween post.

IS TROPICAL - South Pacific
The guys in Is Tropical sent this one over a while back and I've been meaning to post it. It's an infectious, slightly post-punk tinged, dance-floor-ready, post-alcoholic haze, pop gem. Is Tropical have a new release for the awesome Kistune due in Early November

Helios - Eingya
Nothing new about this one. But my love Helios' Eingya has grown so much that it's worth sharing. Fell in love with this one on a a long road trip a few years back. It occasionally comes back to haunt me. Now, it's officially on my best of the last decade list. Truly indispensable and something all of you unfamiliar with Helios must look into.

Acéphale ACE012 (Sail A Whale) + ACE014 (Porcelain Raft)
Two new releases available from Acéphale to pre-order!
First up is Porcelain Raft. PR are pretty hit and miss for me but Tip of Your Tongue is a very strong single. This one is infectious.
Pre-order the 7" from Acéphale directly here
And on my most anticipated releases of the year list is the 12" co-release between Acéphale and Sincerely Yours of Sail A Whale's Documentation. This is the first time we are seeing a proper release here in North America for Sail A whale and it features a few mandatory hits from the past year as well as some new stuff. Acéphale only has a handful of these for sale so move fast! This release is on the do-not-miss list!

CFCF - The River
CFCF has a new EP called The River, which is apparently inspired by Werner Herzog's Fitzcarraldo, which I'm ashamed to say I have yet to see...and it's been on my to-do list for years now. However, on the music tip this sounds like this highlight of the year material from CFCF. Really, this is shockingly great stuff. Not shocking in that it's a surprise for CFCF to release really strong material-- that's something he's done consistently -- shocking in that this sounds a) quite different from his other material b) it sounds like an amazingly focused EP. There are musical ideas CFCF has explored before on The River, but here he pursues them a little deeper. There's not much more to say without gushing, so let's just say I highly recommend you order it right now.

Egyptian Hip Hop - Rad Pitt
Egyptian Hip Hop continue their ascension to being a really great band. These guys know a thing or two about melody and it shows from note one on this track. They seem as aware of what's going in electronic music as they are of what's going on in indie-rock, and combine the two deftly. Rad Pitt reminds me of early Cure in some ways, but the sense of melody is all EHH's own. I've said it before; this is a band to watch.
